✅ We’ve done our best to create a comprehensive and accurate textbook and study guide.
👓 It has been carefully reviewed by numerous editors, faculty and students at universities and colleges across the country, and used by thousands of students here at Duke and elsewhere.
📚 That said, the books together are over 2000 pages, and therefore, there may still be mistakes or typos that have been missed.
🔍 Think you’ve found a mistake? Good eye! Follow the steps below.
- Check the most updated version of the errata to make sure we haven’t located it already.
- Textbook errata (7th edition)
- Study Guide and Solutions Manual errata (7th edition)
- other versions
- If it looks like an undiscovered error in the 7th edition, let Jim know by email.
- I’ll confirm that you have, in fact, found a new error. If so, you’ll get +1 point on the next exam!
- Criteria:
- No more than +3 points per student/semester.
- It must appear in a 7th edition. Older editions are out of print.
- The error or typo must obscure understanding of the problem or topic. These could be errors in a structure, wording that is inconsistent or confusing, or information that is incorrect.
- Minor errors, like a missing punctuation mark, minor typos, or an issue with artwork that doesn’t affect comprehension, aren’t eligible for bonus points, but are still helpful to report to improve our course materials.
- If multiple students report the same new error, I can only award a bonus point for the first one to notify me (determined by timestamp on the email).
- Thank you for letting me know!
